martial arts

Hello,
My name is Austin Harris and I have been taking mixed martial arts for 7 and a half years now. I first started off taking Tae-Kwon-Do, but something about it didn't catch my interest much. Although, it is a very competitive, if not the most competitive form of martial arts available, in my opinion. Me personally, I prefer Muay Thai kick boxing and Brazilian jiu jitsu. Like I said, I have been taking these two martial arts for 7 and a half years now. I am going for my second degree black belt in about 5 months for jiu jitsu. I have never been attached to anything like I am with martial arts. Its the easiest way to relieve stress and anger. I take it for many reasons. One being that it teaches you have self control. Also, it gives me motivation and something to work for. I think I might have to take a break from martial arts for about 2 to 3 months due to football. I don't have the time for them or the money because they are very expensive. Just because I have to stop for football, doesn't mean that I can't still train for it. The day football is over, I am going straight to worcester to get right back in it.

  1. Are there any simple self defense moves that could be used towards an intruder which require no previous training in martial arts?

  3. Okay, the above comment made me laugh.
Anyway, I applaud your commitment. Even after your long break, you're getting right back on the horse!
